Specialist physician and pioneer of holistic medicine. Founded Synthese GmbH in 1993 for holistic medicine and water research. Cooperated directly with the Atominstitut TU Vienna — the connection to Prof. Klima. His network brought Prof. Bankhofer into the circle.
What are biophotons — and why is that relevant for water?
Living cells emit weak light — so-called biophotons. This discovery by biophysicist Fritz-Albert Popp (confirmed by Klima) shows: water is not just H₂O, but an information carrier at the molecular level. The silicon photonic crystal layer in Ideal Water technology works precisely here — it uses the principle of biophotons to structure water. Der Spiegel wrote in 2005 about this research: "There is no doubt about the existence of these biophotons."
What Thomas Freitag envisioned, Klima and Ehrenberger transformed together with him into a measurable, patented technology. And then independent scientists came — and conducted their own measurements.

Prof. Dr. Anton Antonov is a Doctor of Science and Chair of the Centre for Biopsychophysical Phenomena at South-West University in Blagoevgrad. He has developed a patented measurement method that allows precise analysis of molecular water structure — the so-called differential energy spectral analysis.
In August 2009 and March 2010, Prof. Antonov examined Thomas Freitag's Ideal Water system in two independent measurement series. The result:
220% increase in water activity
At the critical energy level E = −0.1112 eV — the range that is crucial for biologically active water — the activity of treated water increases by up to 220%. The average value across all measurements: 58%.
What this means: Normal reverse osmosis alone changes water structure barely measurably. Only the complete combination — molecular filtration, turbulence, silicon photonic crystals, and shungite — unleashes the full effect. That is precisely what Ideal Water technology is.
In the official final report 2010, Prof. Antonov states: "The best results are achieved by Method Nr. 6, where the peak of activity at energy level E = −0.1112 eV is increasing in order of 160%."

Note on original document: The assessment still uses the name "Power Water System" — that was the earlier project name. Based on the positive measurement results from Prof. Antonov and confirmation by Dr. Ehrenberger, Thomas Freitag decided on the current name "Ideal Water" — as a direct statement of what the technology delivers: water according to scientific standards.
Dr. Ehrenberger was known for his critical, scientifically sound approach. His written assessment independently confirms Prof. Antonov's results — and reaches the same conclusion: The Ideal Water system works measurably.
Prof. Hademar Bankhofer — Television Feature
1941–2026 · Austria's most renowned health journalist
Prof. Hademar Bankhofer was for more than 40 years the most reliable voice for health topics in the German-speaking world. Contact came through Dr. Ehrenberger — and Bankhofer made sure to accompany the work with the Ideal Water system in his own television feature.
Prof. Bankhofer (1941–2026) was known for his independence — he recommended nothing that he was not convinced of. His engagement for the Ideal Water system is a rare, credible sign of recognition. We remember him with gratitude.
