Woman doing yoga stretch outdoors - joint health and mobility through hydration7-Step Programme for Physical Performance

Supple joints: why water is the foundation of joint health

Supple, mobile joints are the prerequisite for physical performance. The most important and most underestimated building block: water in the right quality. Cartilage works like a sponge - and needs quality water.

The sponge model: how cartilage uses water

Articular cartilage consists of up to 80 percent water. It works like a sponge: under pressure it releases fluid and nutrients into the joint space, when relieved it absorbs fresh fluid. Good hydration keeps this exchange running - insufficient fluid means less cushioning and faster wear.

Synovial fluid: the lubricant in the joint

Every joint is surrounded by synovial fluid - a viscous lubricant, shock absorber and nutrient medium for cartilage. Its main component: water. Good hydration maintains optimal synovial fluid volume. Fluid deficit reduces this buffer.

Further building blocks for supple joints

Omega-3 fatty acids

Anti-inflammatory, building block of every cell membrane. In: oily fish, linseed oil, walnuts.

MSM, turmeric, boswellia

Support joint function. Part of the Dr Feil strategy.

Vitamin C

Essential for collagen synthesis. In: citrus fruits, peppers, berries.

The EIGW.org 7-Step Programme

The EIGW.org 7-Step Programme for greater physical performance: Ideal Water (1) - Movement (2) - De-acidification (3) - Detoxification (4) - Nutrition (5) - Regeneration (6) - Targeted Performance Optimisation (7). The SYN-ART movement connects people living this programme together in everyday life.

Don't believe us - check for yourself

Tea test

Brew black tea with tap water and ideal water - tap water often shows an oily film.

Flower test

Same flowers in two vases - observe how long each stays fresh.

Animal test

A second bowl with ideal water next to the usual one - the animal chooses freely.

Window test

Clean a window with only ideal water - often dries streak-free due to low conductivity.

Frequently asked questions

Does drinking more water help with joint pain?

Good hydration supports synovial fluid quality and cartilage nutrition - an important foundation. It does not cure joint conditions and is not a substitute for medical advice.

Which water is best for joints?

Low-conductivity water has the best transport capacity. Assessed using all three Vincent parameters: conductivity, pH value and redox value - all three are optimised in Trink Dich Fit stations.

Your next steps

Knowledge is the first step - implementation is the second.

Trink Dich Fit is a programme of EIGW. For the hardware of our Trink Dich Fit water stations we work with Ideal Water as implementation partner.
